Abstract

The current study aimed at finding out the degree of need to develop the performance of Libyan universities in light of the indicators of competitive leadership for the universities of the advanced world, The study sample was stratified, random, consisting of (216) educational leaders, at a rate of 50% of the study population, consisting of (428) educational leaders. the results indicated that the degree of need to develop the performance of Libyan universities was low, and the results showed the absence of statistically significant differences due to the variables (gender, experience), and the presence of statistically significant differences due to the educational qualification variable, and accordingly the researchers recommended to focus on the interest of the Ministry of Higher Education, and the authorities concerned with improving and developing Libyan universities, and providing all the requirements for their transformation into pioneering universities that reach global competitiveness.
