Perceptions of Public Secondary School Principals in the State of Kuwait and their teachers of the Reality of Administrative Procedures to Activate the School’s Health Program in those Schools in Light of some Variables

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the perceptions of the principals of public secondary schools in the State of Kuwait and their teachers of the reality of administrative procedures to activate the school health program in those schools in light of some variables. The researchers used the descriptive survey methodology. The study sample consisted of (108) principals, and (376) male and female teachers. In order to collect the data, a questionnaire was developed consisting of (40) items distributed on (8) domains, namely: (health education, school environment, health services, mental health and counseling, attention to workers’ health, nutrition and food safety, physical education and entertainment, and attention to the health of the neighboring community). The results of the study showed that the reality of the administrative procedures for activating the school health program in public secondary schools in the State of Kuwait came to a medium degree. The results also indicated that there were statistically significant differences in the perceptions of the principals of public secondary schools in the State of Kuwait and their teachers of the reality of administrative procedures to activate the school health program in those schools due to the variable (gender) and in favor of females. And for the variable (educational qualification) in favor of (postgraduate studies), for the variable (job position) and in favor of principals, and for the variable (job experience) in favor of those with higher experience (10 years or more).
