The Ethics of Using Artificial Intelligence in Jordanian Universities from Students’ point of view

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the extent of students’ adherence to the ethical principles governing the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in Jordanian universities, as perceived by the students themselves. The research sample comprised of (499) male and female students enrolled in various Jordanian higher education institutions. Employing a descriptive survey methodology. A structured questionnaire was built, and its validity and reliability were confirmed through appropriate statistical measures. The findings indicated a high level of student commitment to the ethical use of AI. Furthermore, the study revealed statistically significant differences at the (α = 0.05) level based on gender in the dimension of defining the purposes of AI use, with male students demonstrating higher levels of ethical commitment in this regard.
