Abstract

The study aimed to explore the level of perceived stress and its relationship to non-suicidal self-harm among Jordanian university students. The study sample included 900 male and female students from Jordanian universities. To achieve the study objectives, two self-report scales were used: the Perceived Stress Scale prepared by Cohen and Williamson (1988), and a Non-Suicidal Self-Harm Scale, developed specifically for this study. The results showed that the level of non-suicidal self-harm was low, while the level of perceived stress was medium. The results showed a strong positive correlation between perceived stress and non-suicidal self-harm.
