The Level of Job Creativity among Public School Teachers in Palestine and its Relationship to some Variables

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the level of job creativity among public school teachers in Palestine and its relationship to some variables. The descriptive survey methodology was adopted. A stratified random sample was selected consisting of (368) male and female teachers. Eighteen -item questionnaire was developed for data gathering that consisted of four domains; fluency, flexibility, originality, and sensitivity to problems. Its validity and reliability have been verified. The results showed that the level of teachers’ job creativity were high. There were statistically significant differences between the means of the study sample subjects' estimates of the level of job creativity among public school teachers in Palestine attributed to the gender variable, in favor of males, while no statistically significant differences were found attributed to the educational qualification variable. There were statistically significant differences in experience, attributed to years of experience, in favor of teachers with experience (10 years or more) compared to those with experience (less than 5 years). Based on the results, the researchers recommended continuing efforts to enhance creativity among teachers, and maintaining its development through periodic training.
