The Practicing Degree of Academic Leaders in Palestinian Universities of Ethical Administrative Behaviors and its Relationship to some Variables

Abstract

The study aimed to explore the practicing degrees of academic leaders in Palestinian universities of ethical administrative behaviors and its relationship to some variables. The descriptive analytical methodology was used to achieve the study's objectives and answer its questions, employing a scale consisting of (45) items distributed across five domains. The scale was applied to a sample of (355) academic leaders and faculty members from six Palestinian universities covering all regions. The results indicated that the degree of estimation of the study sample on the tool as a whole was "moderate". The domain of "availability of clear legislation for dealing with various aspects of work and unethical behavior" ranked first, followed by the domain of "sources of professional ethics" in the second rank. The results also showed statistically significant differences attributed to the gender variable in favor of males and statistically significant differences attributed to the job title variable in favor of senior management positions and middle management positions.
