Abstract

This study aimed to reveal the obstacles to using interactive learning strategies in teaching science to basic stage students in the Ma'an region, The study used the descriptive methodology, and the study tool was a questionnaire to measure obstacles to use, which was applied to the study sample, which consisted of (51) science teachers, The results of the study showed that the obstacles to science teachers’ use of interactive learning strategies in teaching science to basic stage students ranged between high and medium, and the highest means were obtained by obstacles related to the large burdens and tasks assigned to teachers, and their lack of skills and competencies for employing interactive education strategies. The lack of necessary capabilities and facilities, weak classroom management and classroom control skills, inappropriate classroom design, lack of availability of modern educational technologies, and lack of training courses in which teachers participated in the field of interactive education. The results also indicated that there were no differences between science teachers’ answers about the obstacles to using interactive education strategies in teaching science subject is attributed to gender and years of experience. In light of these results, the researcher recommended the necessity of using interactive education strategies in teaching science subject.
