Work Stress of Public Primary School Teachers at Jerash Governorate and its Relationship to their Professional Roles

The study aimed to reveal the work stresses of public basic school teachers in Jerash Governorate and its relationship to their professional roles. The researcher used the descriptive correlational Methodology. For collecting data, the researcher developed a questionnaire after detecting the validity and reliability. The sample of the study isconsisted of (467) public principals and teachers schools, The results showed that the level of work stress and professional roles among public basic school teachers in Jerash Governorate came to a large degree, and there was a positive correlation with statistical significance between the estimates of the study sample on the items of the work stress scale combined. And their estimates on the items of the scale of professional roles taken together. In light of the results, the study recommended reducing work stress on basic school teachers through the appointment of trained teaching and administrative cadres that contribute to carry out the tasks and responsibilities entrusted to them.
