The Availability Degree of Educational Policies Aimed at Developing Jordanian Public Universities Based on Educational Policies in British Universities from the Viewpoint of Academic Leaders in These Universities

Abstract

The main objective of this study is to identify the degree of availability of educational policies aimed at developing public Jordanian Universities and based on educational policies in British universities from the viewpoint of academic leaders in these universities. The study population consisted of all academic leaders in the public Jordanian universities, which numbered (995) academic leaders. The study was conducted in the academic year (2019/2020). The study sample was selected by purposive sampling from the academic leaders in the three public Jordanian universities (Yarmouk University, the University of Jordan, and Mutah University), and the number of study sample individuals reached (443) individuals, while the final sample was (333) academic leaders. The study tool also consisted of two parts: The first one includes demographic information, consisting of: gender, job position, and academic rank. In addition, the second part includes 39 items distributed over six areas, and the survey instrument was designed along the lines of the Fifth Likert Scale. The results showed that the degree of academic leadership practice in the official Jordanian universities for educational policies in general was at average level, with (2.92) mean and (0.61) standard deviation. The results also indicated that there were statistically differences at the level of significance (a = 0.05) due to gender and academic rank variables, while there were no differences attributable to the career position variable.
