Abstract

The current study aimed to analyze the performance of Jordanian students participating in the PISA assessments and propose mechanisms for improving their results. The study employed the analytical-synthetic approach due to its suitability for the research objectives. A review of previous studies and reports from the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) was conducted to establish an understanding of the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), its key objectives, significance, and areas of focus. The study examined the performance of Jordanian students in PISA assessments from 2006 to 2022. The findings identified several factors contributing to students’ low performance, including students themselves, teachers, parents, and curricula. Additionally, the study proposed appropriate administrative mechanisms to enhance performance.
