The Role of Public Secondary School Principals in Palestine in Protecting Students from Electronic Addiction

This study aimed to identify the role of public secondary school principals in Palestine in protecting students from electronic addiction. The study population consisted of all male and female secondary school principals in Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate in Palestine, who numbered (90) subjects For the purposes of collecting study data, the researcher developed a questionnaire consisting of (20) items, distributed into four domains: spreading awareness about electronic addiction, promoting extracurricular activities, communicating with teachers, and involving parents. The results of the study indicated that the role of public secondary school principals in Palestine to protect students from electronic addiction was high. There were statistically significant differences in the role of the principals in promoting awareness and in favor of administrative experience at its three levels (less than 5 years, 6-10 years, more than 10 years). The results also indicated that there was a statistically significant relationship to the principal’s role in communicating with teachers due to the educational level variable. In light of the results of the study, the researcher recommended adopting a comprehensive strategy to protect students from electronic addiction.
