Educational E-Training in Palestine: It’s Justifications, Challenges, and Role in Achieving Teacher Professional Development

Abstract

This study is aimed to identify the justifications and obstacles of electronic training, and its role to achieve some professional growth for teachers. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher used the qualitative method/in-depth individual interview with the study sample consisting of all educational supervisors in the Jenin Education Directorate. When analyzing the data, reached a set of results, the most prominent regarding the justifications is developing multiple skills among teachers, such as diversity in electronic educational methods, which include interactive videos and interactive tests. As for the obstacles, the most prominent of them are the frequent electric faults and lack of internet access. The study sample revealed that electronic training has an important role on the professional growth of teachers. The researcher recommended some suggestions based on these findings.
